H2H Energy is pleased to be supporting the refuelling of a Wrightbus hydrogen fuel cell bus operating on the Sunshine Coast as part of the Noosa Shuttle and broader Queensland hydrogen bus trial program.
The project forms part of Queensland's ongoing evaluation of hydrogen-powered public transport, with the Wrightbus fuel cell buses operating from CDC Queensland's Sunshine Coast depot. The trial brings together Queensland's Department of Transport and Main Roads, Translink, CDC Queensland, Wrightbus and local hydrogen industry participants to assess the performance of hydrogen buses in real-world Australian operating conditions.
H2H has been supporting the trial through hydrogen refuelling activities and associated operational assistance, continuing the company's long involvement with hydrogen transport projects across Australia and New Zealand. The trial commenced with the introduction of locally built Volgren buses powered by Wrightbus hydrogen fuel cell technology, representing one of Australia's first deployments of this particular platform.
The Wrightbus-powered vehicles have been specifically developed to support the transition toward low-emission public transport. Built in partnership with Australian manufacturer Volgren, the buses combine locally manufactured bodies with Wrightbus hydrogen fuel cell driveline technology, providing a practical demonstration of hydrogen's potential role in public transport decarbonisation.
H2H is proud to support CDC Queensland, Wrightbus and the Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads as the trial progresses. Programs such as these provide valuable operational experience for operators, regulators and technology providers while helping develop the hydrogen refuelling capability required to support future transport deployments.
