H2H Energy has successfully delivered and commissioned a CORE40 hydrogen refueller for Queensland’s hydrogen bus demonstration program, supporting the deployment of low-emission public transport on the Sunshine Coast.
H2H Energy is pleased to announce the successful delivery of another CORE40 hydrogen refueller, commissioned for the Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) at CDC Queensland's Kunda Park depot on the Sunshine Coast.
The project forms an important part of Queensland's hydrogen bus demonstration program, supporting the operation of hydrogen fuel cell buses manufactured by Volgren and powered by Wrightbus technology.
The trial has been established to evaluate hydrogen-powered public transport in real-world regional operating conditions and support the broader transition toward low-emission transport solutions.
The Kunda Park refuelling installation was awarded to H2H through a competitive procurement process. As part of the project, multiple candidate sites across South East Queensland were assessed for suitability, with the Kunda Park depot ultimately selected as the preferred location for the hydrogen refuelling infrastructure.
Located just minutes from H2H Energy's headquarters in Coolum, the site has become a flagship installation for the company.
The project showcases the latest evolution of H2H's field-proven CORE40 refuelling platform, incorporating design refinements developed through years of operational experience supporting hydrogen transport projects across Australia and New Zealand.
H2H delivered the project on a full turnkey basis, managing development, engineering, regulatory compliance, equipment integration, commissioning and operational readiness activities from project inception through to deployment.
This integrated approach enabled efficient project execution while ensuring the facility met the operational requirements of the trial and the high standards expected for public transport applications.
The CORE40 system has been specifically designed to provide reliable, flexible and deployable hydrogen refuelling capability, allowing vehicle operators to gain practical experience with hydrogen transport technologies while larger permanent infrastructure networks continue to develop.
The commencement of hydrogen bus operations on the Sunshine Coast marks another significant milestone for Queensland's hydrogen transport sector.
