H2H Energy’s long-standing collaboration with CSIRO combines practical industry expertise with leading research to support the development of safe, reliable and commercially focused hydrogen technologies in Australia.

H2H Energy recently visited CSIRO's Hydrogen Technology Demonstration Facility and hydrogen refuelling station in Clayton, Victoria, meeting with CSIRO personnel to discuss hydrogen market developments, refuelling infrastructure, operational support requirements and long-term maintenance considerations for hydrogen assets.
The facility forms part of CSIRO's broader Hydrogen Industry Mission and includes hydrogen production, storage and vehicle refuelling capabilities designed to support research, demonstration and industry development activities.
Discussions focused on the practical realities of deploying and operating hydrogen infrastructure, including lessons learned from station operation, maintenance requirements, reliability considerations and the importance of developing skilled local support capability as the industry continues to mature.
Both organisations shared perspectives gained from years of involvement in real-world hydrogen projects across Australia.
The visit builds on a long-standing relationship between H2HEnergy and CSIRO that spans numerous hydrogen technology programs and research initiatives. Over the years, H2H has supported CSIRO on a range of hydrogen-related activities, from technical reviews and operational assessments through to project development and industry engagement activities.
Among these collaborations has been support associated with CSIRO's world-leading Metal Organic Framework (MOF) hydrogen storage technology, which has attracted international attention for its potential to improve hydrogen storage and transportation outcomes.
H2H has also provided support for the development of synthetic ammonia testing systems, ammonia cracking and separation technologies, HAZOP workshops, risk assessments and various hydrogen safety and engineering activities undertaken across Australia.
The relationship highlights the complementary capabilities of both organisations. CSIRO continues to play a leading role in hydrogen research, technology development and commercialisation pathways, while H2Hcontributes practical expertise gained through the deployment, operation and maintenance of hydrogen production, storage and refuelling systems throughout Australia and New Zealand.
