H2H Energy Unveils H2CORE Hydrogen Refuelling Solution

Hydrogen solutions company, H2H Energy, has proudly launched its groundbreaking hydrogen refuelling product, H2CORE, marking a national first for Australia. The locally manufactured solution offers high-capacity refuelling for hydrogen-powered vehicles including cars, trucks, buses, and boats.

The official launch took place at the company’s manufacturing facility on the Sunshine Coast, where H2H Energy has been developing the H2CORE for their first Australian customer.

As the only manufacturer of hydrogen refuelling equipment in Australia, H2H Energy has been supporting projects across Australia and New Zealand since 2014, starting with its small-scale portable refueller, the Gateway.

The introduction of the H2CORE represents a significant advancement in H2H Energy’s commitment to scaling up to meet the evolving needs of the hydrogen industry, especially as fleet sizes expand, and hydrogen-powered heavy vehicles begin to enter the Australian market for the first time.

The H2CORE offers 35 or 70 MPa hydrogen dispensing in a 40ft high-cube shipping container, with configurable hydrogen storage and refuelling times. It can be fed from a tube trailer or electrolyser.

The launch event was attended by representatives from industry and government, underscoring the importance of this development.

H2H Energy is seeing growing interest in hydrogen refuelling solutions from Australian bus operators, logistics companies, and passenger car fleets who are eager to decarbonise their operations and deploy technology options beyond battery electric vehicles.

Cranston Polson, CEO & Founder of H2H Energy, stated that today marks a significant day for the hydrogen industry, especially with the increasing momentum to scale Australia’s hydrogen sector, as highlighted by the release of the updated National Hydrogen Strategy this month.

“With the launch of the updated strategy, which places hydrogen at the forefront of the Australian Government’s energy policy, we are excited to lead the way in this crucial transition by building hydrogen solutions in Australia,” he said.

“The H2CORE is a game-changer for the industry, and we are committed to driving innovation and supporting our customers in their move toward hydrogen mobility and do our bit to decarbonise Australia’s transport sector.”

One of the most significant barriers to the uptake of hydrogen fuel cell technology has been the lack of adequate infrastructure. The introduction of the H2CORE, along with H2H Energy’s comprehensive range of refuelling solutions, is designed to address this critical challenge by empowering businesses to transition to hydrogen technology with confidence.

H2H Energy looks forward to working with its existing and new customers to get more refuelling equipment into the field, facilitating the adoption of hydrogen fuel cell fleets.
